Meeting of the Board

The first meeting of the Board of the Online Learning Foundation for Meteorology and Hydrology took place on Thursday June 29, 2006 at the Florida International University. Present were Arthur Dania, President, Martin Yerg, Secretary, Colin Depradine, Treasurer and Roy Evers, Director.

The Academic Committee was formally established consisting of:
Professor Dr. Walter Fernández, University of Costa Rica
Dr. Eric Alfaro, University of Costa Rica
Professor Dr. Hugh Willoughby, Florida International University
Dr. Colin Depradine, former CIMH, Barbados
Professor Dr. Han van Dissel, Erasmus University of Rotterdam, Netherlands

Train-the-Trainer workshop, 2nd day (Brazil - Ghana: 3-0)

Train-the-Trainer workshop in E-learning

On Monday July 26, 2006 the first week of the Train-the-Trainer course started at the Florida International University in Miami. This week will be the face-to-face kick-off of a four to five months course. After this first week the course will continue online. So the participants will learn online how to deliver a course online. At the end of the five months the participants will have developed the courses that they are going to teach in the Online Msc. Program in Operational Meteorology. The participants are professors and teachers of the University of Costa Rica, the Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology, the Florida International University and the University of the Netherlands Antilles.

Establishment of the foundation for e-learning

On Wednesday July 21, 2006 the Online Learning Foundation for Meteorology and Hydrology was established at the office of attorney Burgers in Curaçao. Arthur Dania and Roy Evers were present.
