Start of preparatory courses
The following preparatory courses are offered prior to the start of the Master of Science program:
1. Introduction to Meteorology and Hydrology (Dr. Jorge Guiterrez, University of Costa Rica)
2. Introduction to Mathematics (Henry Cruden, University of the Netherlands Antilles)
3. Introduction to Statistics (Henry Cruden, University of the Netherlands Antilles)
4. Introduction to Physics (Kailas Narayan, Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology, Barbados)
The preparatory courses started on Monday October 9, 2006, with 'Introduction to Mathematics' and 'Introduction to Statistics'.
On Monday October 16, 2006 the courses 'Introduction to Physics' and 'Introduction to Meteorology and Hydrology' will start.

Meeting of the Board
The first meeting of the Board of the Online Learning Foundation for Meteorology and Hydrology took place on Thursday June 29, 2006 at the Florida International University. Present were Arthur Dania, President, Martin Yerg, Secretary, Colin Depradine, Treasurer and Roy Evers, Director.
The Academic Committee was formally established consisting of:
